about me

Sharing my journey and motivations

"Benny, please read the passage to the class," my elementary school teacher instructed. As I looked at the page, the words appeared scrambled. It was later revealed that I had dyslexia.

Little did I know then that this discovery would become a driving force behind my mission to design software that is accessible and turns frowns upside down.

Motivated by the desire for a supportive learning environment, I decided to transition to a school designed for students with learning disabilities. This experience fueled my interest in creative problem-solving as I learned strategies to improve my reading comprehension. After completing sixth grade, I transitioned to a public school.

Throughout high school, I studied diligently to earn a 4.1 GPA. Alongside my academic pursuits, I sharpened my public speaking skills when elected as the student government treasurer for all four years. Additionally, my tenure at the Apple Store during my senior year profoundly shaped my customer-centric mindset.

In 2021, I graduated summa cum laude from Rochester Institute of Technology, majoring in New Media Design. This program encompasses various design disciplines, including UX, UI, visual, motion, 3D, and product design. Beyond my coursework, I designed websites for Fortune 500 clients at Yext and reimagined a B2B sales software at the RIT Magic Center.

Currently, as a product and brand designer at Rocket Money, I design experiences that meaningfully improve financial lives.
